Stage Clips – Ken-A-Vision patented spring loaded clips provided as standard on all
Ken-A-Vision microscopes. (Except ESH models)

S-Video (output) – (see also connectors) - Separate video, also known as Y/C (or
erroneously, S-VHS and "super video") is an analog video signal that carries the
video data as two separate signals (brightness and color), unlike composite video
which carries the entire set of signals in one signal line. [S-Video, as most
commonly implemented, carries high-bandwidth 480i or 576i resolution video,
i.e. standard definition video. It does not carry audio on the same cable. It is a
four (4) pin connector, with each signal pin paired with its own ground pin].

USB Adapter – An accessory allowing the conversion of an analog signal to a digital
signal. Currently Ken-A-Vision sells two such units USBAD2 (which comes with
Applied Vision ™ for Windows and Ken-A-Vision Capture for Macintosh) and/or 910-
171-318, which has video pass-through capability.
VCR – Video Cassette Recorder – Records image captured on camera (or from an analog
source such as a TV, and places the signal usually on VHS or similar tape.
Venetian Effect - Venetian Blind Wipe - A transition that produces the effect of having
an outgoing clip displayed in strips over the incoming clip. The strips open, like a
Venetian blind, to reveal the incoming clip.
